Miller Trucking and
Excavating was founded in 1947 by brothers Bill and Herb
Miller. The business primarily excavated residential home
foundations and occasionally branched into minor commercial
work.
In 1968, the second generation of brothers, Jeral and Joel,
inherited the company and continued joint partnership until
1973. At that point, Jeral became sole owner and president
of Miller Trucking and Excavating, Inc. Miller Trucking and
Excavating diversified the business in the late 1980s to
incorporate larger commercial type site work projects along
with their already established residential contracts.
Throughout the 1990’s, Miller Trucking and Excavating began
to accelerate their rate of growth and diversity to meet the
construction demands required in the Quad City area. These
aspects included; site development and grading, underground
utility installation, commercial site construction, concrete
and asphalt paving, demolition, etc.
By 1998, a third generation of Millers, Jarrod and Justin,
had taken over day-to-day operations and began laying out a
new roadmap for company growth. Continuing in the tradition
of company expansion, Jarrod and Justin purchased a mobile
concrete recycling plant to assist the company with disposal
of concrete and asphalt debris,
Miller Materials.
In 2005, the company moved operations into an 11 acre office
and warehouse complex along John Deere Road in Silvis, IL.
Miller Trucking and Excavating first commitment has always
been to maintain a high level of service, quality
workmanship, and customer satisfaction with every project
they perform. The company is continually striving to
diversify operations in order to offer the most complete
customer service available.
